British singer-songwriter, Corinne Bailey Rae’s unique blend of pop, soul and retro R&B captured word-of-mouth buzz in early 2006, but quickly her popularity soared and transformed her into a global sensation. Four years and four-million album sales after the release of her self-titled debut album, the GRAMMY Award winner from Leeds has returned with new critically acclaimed album, The Sea.   The New York Times has already raved, "The album is a major creative leap from her debut." Bailey Rae’s first album entered the U.K. album chart at #1 in June 2006 and she was the first British female singer-songwriter in decades to have her debut enter The Billboard 200 in the Top 20.  Her debut album was certified Platinum in both Canada and the U.S.  She won a Q award, a MOJO award, an Image award and two MOBO awards and was nominated for three GRAMMY awards – 'Record Of The Year' and 'Song Of The Year' for her first single, “Put Your Records On,” and 'Best New Artist.'  After her performance on the 2007 GRAMMY Awards telecast, the album rocketed into the Top 5 of The Billboard 200.  In 2008, “Like A Star,” her second single, was nominated for 'Song Of The Year' and Herbie Hancock’s River: The Joni Letters, on which Bailey Rae sang the title track, won the GRAMMY for 'Album Of The Year.'

Bailey Rae kicks of her first North American tour in three years in Vancouver on April 9th. Along with dates in Toronto and Montreal she will perform at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival, the St. Lucia Jazz Festival and on select Lilith Fair dates (to be announced). Prior to the tour, she has the following TV performances scheduled: Late Show with David Letterman (March 1st), Jimmy Kimmel Live (March 8th) and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (April 4th).
